It is so good to be doing what I love the most after what feels a lifetime away! Gorgeous Lucas was one the first babies that I’ve photographer after lockdown. I had photographed Shirley & Xin’s wedding back in 2018, and was delighted when the couple contacted me when they were expecting. I visited them in their home, where I set up my backdrop and lighting. Photographing newborns in their new home environment works just as nicely as shooting in my own studio – allowing parents to relax in their own home, which is sometimes more of a comfort just after giving birth, especially if it’s the first baby.
There’s something so perfect and peaceful about a sleeping newborn. Lucas spent the time sleeping like an angel, oblivious to everything going on around him. The newborn phase is so fleeting, it was such an honour to be able to give Shirley & Xin special memories of their first baby to treasure.
